**23% of adults (26% age 50-73, and 36% age 74 and over) regularly take at least one supplement for brain health.

Overall, about 90 million people take brain-health related supplements. I can only imagine this amount will increase as Baby Boomers get older.

The following are some of the supplements that are taken:

Fish oil

Omega-3

Turmeric/Curcumin

Green tea

Fish oil for brain health

Coenzyme Q10

Proprietary brain health supplements

Ginkgo Biloba

Caffeine supplements

Flavanols/cocoa

Now one of the things in the list is “Fish oil”. I’m not sure exactly what they mean, as that can be a broad range of things. From my personal studies, I’d like to suggest:

  1. Wild Norwegian Cod Liver Oil made by Carlson. (I found mine at Whole Foods). According to the Supplement Facts, it has 1,100 mg of Omega-3 Fatty Acids, 500mg of DHA and 400 mg of EPA. Also, it shows that Vitamin D level is 50% of your DV (Daily Value). Most of us lack vitamin D and it is very important to have your DV of vitamin D for your body. See WebMD for the benefits of Vitamin D. It also has 45%DV of Vitamin A. The Great Physician’s Rx book by Jordan Rubin also talks about how we need one to three teaspoons of Cod Liver Oil a day. Another book I referenced that is in my personal library is called “Having Our Say The Delany Sisters First One Hundred Years.” You guessed it, one of the things they took every day was a teaspoon of Cod Liver Oil.

2. The other product I’m going to suggest wasn’t around when the Delany sisters were alive, or when Jordan Rubin’s book referenced above was written is a product by Young Living Essential oils called Mind Wise. Besides some great ingredients, you can find in other supplements, you will find they infuse Theapudic Essential Oils into this product which can be highly beneficial for your body and brain. You’ll want to click on the link and read about it on their website and consider getting it along with my other suggestion of Wild Norwegian Cod Liver Oil.

If you found value in this blog post, please take action on it and also share it with others.
