I’ve been studying successful people for quite a few years now, and one of the vital keys I see to their success if that each of them knows their “why”. Why they do what they do. I was watching a video that I want to share by Melissa Poepping Crown Diamond in Young Living Essential oils. (Crown Diamonds make on average $74,330 a month according to the 2015 Young Living Income Disclosure form ). In this short but sweet video, she clearly explains that you need to know your why. I’ll share her video below, and I’ll also share the same principle with you from others, so you too can see that it’s not just one person’s opinion, but every single person that has been and is successful has applied to their lives to become successful.
Here is Melissa Poepping’s video:
Did you notice in Melissa’s video she said once you know your why, you write it down and look at your why in the morning before you get up and in the evening before you go to bed. Which is why she titled her video Finding AND remembering your WHY. It’s not enough to find it, you must remember it. To remember it, you must review it twice a day every day, morning and night and imagine the life the way you really want it as if it is.
Grant Cardone (who has built five companies that produce over $100 million a year in sales, and has created a net worth of over $100 million) in his mini-book The Millionaire Booklet How To Get Super Rich on page 19 also says to review your decision or why every morning and evening. I’ve also watched many of his live steams and he has given the same advice.
In the famous book Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill in the chapter titled Decision he talks about making a definite decision. (If you don’t know what you want and why you want it, you’ll never get what you want out of life). In the chapter entitled Desire he teaches to read your written statement aloud twice daily, once just before retiring at night, and once after arising in the morning. As you read, see and feel and believe yourself already in possession of what you want.
Why must we repeat our why every day twice a day? Napoleon Hill writes in the chapter Auto-Suggestion “No thought, whether it be negative or positive, can enter the subconscious mind without the aid of the principle of auto-suggestion.”
There is a poem that goes like this:
“I bargained for Life for a penny,
and Life would pay no more,
However, I bedded at evening
When I counted my scanty store.”
“For Life is just an employer,
He gives you just what you ask,
But once you have set the wages,
Why, must you bear the task.”
“I worked for a menial’s hire,
only to learn, dismayed,
That any wage I asked for Life,
Life would have willingly paid.”
Knowing your “why” and “remembering” your “why” is the starting point of success that MUST not be skipped over, thinking such a principle is too simple to be of any importance. Knowing your why and programming your mind each day will push you through those days when everything is going wrong when people are attacking you for what you believe in and are doing. When the darkness seems so thick that you could cut through it with a knife. It’s during those type of times (and we will all experience those type of times) in our lives that knowing our “why” will help us push through to the other side, even when we don’t feel like it. It will surpass any emotions you have allowing you to take daily action on the very essence of you. Your WHY.
Your life can be what you dream it to be. What is it you want and why? It will take living key principles day in and day out and lots of that four letter word called work. And you know what? It will all be worth it.
“You are the Michelangelo of your life. The David you are sculpting is YOU.” – Joe Vitale
“I began to learn what poverty meant. It was burnt into my heart then that my father had to beg for work. And then and there came the resolve that I would cure that when I got to be a man.” – Andrew Carnegie
[Warren on money] It could make me independent. Then I could do what I wanted to do with my life. And the biggest thing I wanted to do was work for myself. I didn’t want other people directing me. The idea of doing what I wanted to do everyday was important to me.
I’ve already made the decision.
I never considered my dreams wasted energy; they were invariably linked to some form of action. When I dreamed about having a lemonade stand, for example, it wasn’t long before I set up a lemonade stand.
