Your Master Bedroom where you and your spouse spend time together should be treated as hallow. If you give a tour of your place to people visiting, leave out of the tour your Master Bedroom. Your Master Bedroom should be treated as very special for just you and your spouse. (This doesn’t mean your children can’t come in, but there should be an understanding that when the door is closed, it means private, do not enter).

To keep your bedroom hallow, if you have a home phone in it or cell phones; you’ll want to turn the ringers off and with cell phones, even the vibration off; so the caller goes straight to voicemail. This is your time, and just because the phone rings doesn’t mean you have to stop everything you are doing and answer it. I learned this years ago, but somehow forgot it. I work late usually which means I sleep in until late morning and even though I use “No Mo Robo” to screen telemarketing calls. (While it works well,I’d say 98% elimination the phone will still ring once before it goes to No Mo Robo recording, waking me up). After rereading Super Self by Charles J. Givens, I was reminded of this success strategy. Oh it’s now so sweet not to be woke up by the phone. The calls go to our answering machine which I check once a day only and I decide when to call them back if at all. Only our living room phone rings and again if we are having dinner as a family, we let the answering machine do its job.

You can either let others control your time, or you can choose to control your time. Time being the most valuable thing in the world, I feel it’s important to be in control of your own time.

Another thing we do at times to make our Master Bedroom special is we diffuse essential oils that we both enjoy smelling. It not only makes the room smell inviting, pure therapeutic essential oils has been body, mind, and spiritual aspects to our lives. We enjoy quite a few different oils such as Orange (especially during the winter, it reminds us of Spring), Thieves, Lemon Grass, Lavender and many more. They are wonderful and help build a special mood for my wife and I.

Have plenty of comfortable pillows for your bed and splurge for a nice comforter and or blanket. You’ll love your time together even more.
