Beautiful hair and skin don’t have to be a thing of the past. Certain food you eat can help you feel young.

So many articles are online about the negative effects of red meat. Ahhh! Here’s one, at last, that is a positive of eating red meat:

Hair becomes thinner as you age, but the iron in red meat can help yours stay lush. Iron-rich proteins produce keratin, which gives your hair its elasticity and shine. Even though a 3 oz serving gives you about 10% of your daily iron requirements, it’s easier for your body to get iron from meat than from plants.

Cashews are my favorite type of nut.

Bone loss can start as early as age 30 (wow!). So start fighting it now. Cashews are a good source of magnesium. 60% of your body stores of magnesium are found in the bones. An ounce a day will give you about 20% of your daily dose.

Besides keeping your eyesight good, they are good for the skin too. They help ward off wrinkles. Carotenoids help reduce the damaging effects of aging including the loss of collagen which helps your skin stay smooth.

Red and Purple Grapes

Red and purple grapes have compounds that work to prevent the buildup of toxins. The antioxidant pterostilbene helps destroy harmful microbes in your body and also they help rid your body of unhealthy inflammation.


Here’s one that most Americans don’t know about, but I can guarantee you that most Chinese do. The wolfberry (especially the Ningxia wolfberry) is high in antioxidants and vitamins A and C.  Great for your whole body. Many Centerians live in the Ningxia province of China. They are known to eat wolfberries and make tea from it too. Perhaps that’s one of the reasons they are able to reach past the age of 100? Many still walk well and work on their farms!
